UCM show, Classes, New work, and Magazines.

This Saturday, July 12 is the opening reception for Summit Art's summer exhibition at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO.  The reception is always pretty laid back, and I hope some of you will be able to come.  It is from 4-6pm at the UCM gallery.  The show features three of my paintings, including a newbie that I haven't shown yet.  If you aren't able to make it to the reception, I hope you'll be able to see the show at some point.  It runs from July 12 - August 8.

I will be offering new painting classes very soon!!  I am tentatively setting the start date for Tuesday, August 12th.  The classes will be held in Lee's Summit, MO, and will be $30/weekly class session.  This time, rather than focusing exclusively on portrait painting, it is going to be more focused on fundamentals of oil painting, and we'll be doing various subjects such as still life, landscape, and yes some portraiture.  More info to come soon, but if you're interested in joining us, please send me an email at ryandelgadoart@gmail.com.  I'd love to have you!  Beginners especially welcome.

It's bittersweet for me to say, but the Gamber Center exhibition comes down next week.  Thursday, July 17th will be the last day that you'll be able to see the show.  I'll be taking it down the following day.  So if you haven't seen it, please don't miss it!  If you do miss it, be prepared for an icy stare from me.  Speaking of, here's a new painting of that very thing:

That's me in about 40 years... still glaring at you for not going to my exhibition.  So go.  NOW!

One more bit of cool news... I will have a Q&A article featured in the August issue of Lee's Summit Lifestyle Magazine, coming up in a few weeks.  Be sure to check that out as well!  I talk a bit about what has inspired me as an artist, and why people are my favorite subject to paint.

That's all for now, stay tuned for more updates coming up soon!
