As we approach summer, things are starting to get pretty busy in the studio and beyond.
- I am currently booked for the Blue Springs Fine Art Show, coming up on June 5-6 at Vesper Hall in Blue Springs, MO. It will look mostly the same this year with exception to the awards ceremony, which will take place on that Sunday afternoon on the 6th at 3:00pm. I believe they are limiting the attendance for that as well, in keeping with coronavirus protocols. But the rest of the show will take place as it always has - Open to the public from 10am - 5pm on Saturday the 5th, and from 11am - 4pm on the 6th.

- Two more shows pending for this summer include the Stems Plein Air Show at The Rice Gallery of Fine Art in Overland Park, KS, and the Images Gallery Juried Show, also in Overland Park. Both shows open in July, and it seems the deadlines for both shows are a race against the clock for me! I have one plein air painting finished, and would like to get a second one done before the Stems deadline on May 28. I believe I have my 3 entries ready to go for Images Gallery, although I am still considering those. That deadline is June 1st. It actually feels nice to once again have the pressure of entering shows on me. Just something that keeps me on my toes and motivates me to get new work completed.
- New 6x6" paintings for Ebay are coming very soon, possibly by tomorrow, Friday, May 14. I just have to get them varnished and in their frames. PLEASE check out my Ebay page to see the current selection of small paintings I have available. I have sold about 4 in the past month or so, and hope to do even better with sales as the summer approaches. If you're lucky, I may even offer a small discount on paintings if you add them to your "watchlist". I've noticed a LOT of watchers on my paintings, but not nearly as many sales. That's pretty typical, but also a little annoying. - I have also recently completed a couple of other landscape pieces, one of which is a 6x12" panel that I will eventually be listing on Ebay. This one is titled Last Rays.

I also completed my first "larger" painting in a while. Larger by comparison to the 6x6" and other small works I've been doing, anyway. This is a 16x20" oil on linen titled Broken Light, which I am considering for the Images Gallery Juried Show in July.
