New Painting + Upcoming YouTube Video??

Hello everyone,

I recently finished a little 11x14" alla prima painting.  I enjoyed my previous waterfall piece so much that I did another.

I also just happened to record this painting on video, and I'm in the process of editing it down as a time lapse video for YouTube.  It's been nearly two years since I last published anything on my YouTube channel, and I'm hoping I can do a little more on there soon (as I've frequently said over the past year or so).  The thing that's kept me away for so long is simply the amount of time and work that goes into editing and uploading, not to mention even recording for that matter.  I do enjoy it, but it's so time consuming, and the perfectionist in me doesn't help matters.

But for this one, I'm planning on taking the video down to about 15 minutes and recording a voice over commentary.  Shouldn't be too much work, right?  I guess we'll see.

Altogether, the painting took around 2.5 hours.  It is available for purchase, and as always you may message me at ryandelgadoart@gmail.com to inquire.  I am hoping to publish the video in the next week or so.  Depending on how perfect I need it to be.  I haven't decided what the commentary will be about... if it will be strictly narrative about what I'm doing in the painting, or if I'll cover broad topics in oil painting.  Possibly a combination of both, but there's a whole lot I could cover and only 15 minutes worth of video.  So it will be abbreviated as the video itself is.

New Works in June-July 2021

Hello!

I've been working on a lot of different things this summer, and here it all is:

Above are a few mini panels, 4x6" oil on linen.  My plan is to put these on Ebay as they are, unframed for around $60-$75 or so.  I have a limited number of them, but I may order some more panels soon, depending on if they do well in selling.  I have many more small works still available on Ebay, including my framed 6x6" works.  Please check those out here:  https://www.ebay.com/usr/ryandart

My most recent painting is a larger version of the waterfall painting above.  It is the first larger painting (larger than 11x14") that I've done in a while that I completed in true alla prima fashion, taking me around 6 hours to complete.  This one is 24x18", oil on stretched linen, and I've titled it Living Water:

Finally, I've been working on a few figurative drawings and matting them to hopefully sell on Ebay as well.  I have not decided yet if I will be framing them, or selling them as matted works only.  The drawings are all 6x9" and matted at 9x12".  So far I have completed six, and hope to do more soon.

2021 Images Gallery Juried Exhibition July 16 - August 13

Hello, hope everyone had a great Independence Day weekend!

Today I have another show announcement:  I will be participating in this year's Images Art Gallery Juried Show at the Images Art Gallery in Overland Park, Kansas.  The show runs from Friday, July 16th through Friday, August 13th.  There WILL be an opening reception on the evening of July 16 from 6-8pm.

Stems Plein Air 2021 is Online Now!

Hello friends and art lovers all over!

The 2021 Stems Plein Air Exhibition opens to the public tomorrow, July 2 at The Rice Gallery of Fine Art in Overland Park, Kansas (https://www.thericegallery.com)

The show is online today, and my painting is now available for purchase through the gallery's webstore.  Simply visit the link above and click on the Stems Plein Air tab.  My painting is titled No Vehicles Beyond This Point, and is available for $425.
