New Year Updates

It's been a little too long, but the holiday hiatus is over and it's time to work!

I believe I left you all off back in October with the State of the Arts show.  Well, it was fun and I (finally) got my Honorable Mention award.  That's another story.  Let's just say it took way longer than it should have for my check to arrive, but it finally did, so all is right with the world now.

Since then, I painted a new piece called Hallowed.  Like Scarred for Life, I felt inspired to do another re-working of an old painting from my college days.  This one took some time, and even a little research.  I even learned to speak a little old Galilean Aramaic for this piece.  Yeah, no kidding.  It incorporates an Aramaic version of the Lord's Prayer in written form as part of the background.  It is a simple piece about the power of prayer in its genuine, humble state.

So that brings us to 2019.  After taking a few weeks to rest and have some Christmas cheer, I am happy to start off the new year with some good news.  I have an itsy bitsy painting making its way to RS Hanna Gallery in Fredericksburg, TX for the National Oil and Acrylic Painters' Society Best of America Small Works Exhibition, March 1 - April 6.  It's only a 6x8" piece, so I hope it won't get lost and unnoticed at this show, which is sure to have a whole lot of amazing work.

Those are pretty much all the updates I have so far.  But 2019 is well underway now, and I am sure that there are plenty more things to come.  I will be submitting work for a gallery show in KC Crossroads very soon.  Once I have an update on that, I will be sharing it right away.  Other than that, be on the lookout for more show announcements, painting updates, and YouTube vlogs coming up for 2019!  Lots more to come!
